Earls' Battery has an extensive repair process to make sure your battery gets back to optimal working condition.  This is done through our six step battery repair process.

Receiving Inspection

Initial drilling to pull bad cells.

  1. Assign shop number
  2. Record model, serial number, AH and age
  3. Open circuit voltage by cell
  4. Specify gravity
  5. Physical problems - cables, connector, covers, tray, compound

Adjustments

  1. Charge as needed until gravities are 1.285 or as required
  2. Add 1,400 gravity acid until all cells are 1.285 gravity

We begin to remove bad cells out of battery.

Discharge Test
  1. Discharge at the 6 hour rate (i.e. 600 AH=100 AH per hour)
  2. Record cell voltage readings each hour.
Analyze Test Report
  1. Determine which cells need replacing
  2. Determine if new or used cells should be used based upon age and general condition of battery
  3. Determine if battery is economical to repair

Finished Battery.
