- Keep caps on all cells & tight while operating, charging and
washing.
- Check water levels daily until water use pattern is established.
- Keep water level above plates, but no more then to bottom of vent
well.
- Add water, if necessary, after the battery is fully charged.
- Check that charger is operating after hook-up to the battery.
- Give battery an equalizing charge at least once a week.
- Take periodic hydrometer readings of each cell, 1.275 full - 1.150
dead.
- Keep battery clean. It should we washed off at least once a
week and wiped dry. Use battery cleaner or baking soda.
- Keep battery snug, but not tight in its compartment on truck.
- Use proper equipment in changing and handling; batteries are heavy.
- Wash hands after working on or around your battery.
